Cape Town

Cape Town, South Africa has its eye on become the next international 24-hour city.

South Africa Alderman James Vos is the Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth and Tourism at the City of Cape Town. He spoke with Cape Talk 567AM about his recent visit to Amsterdam and his vision for Cape Town to become a 24-hour city.

We take note that Mr. Vos was particularly energized after meeting and talking with Amsterdam’s night mayor, Ramon de Lima.

“The moment is here because the recovery of COVID-29 will lead to a completely different economy: the way we live, work and play. So, this is our moment and I’m really keen to get going on this to find much more positive nighttime experiences and investments that will pave the way for Cape Town to become increasingly a 24-hour city.”
