New in Nashville

New in Nashville

Nashville Ballet is the largest professional ballet company in Tennessee and presents classical ballets as well as contemporary works.

In honor of his final season as Nashville Ballet’s Artistic Director, the ballet company is celebrating Paul Vasterling with an evening of dance titled “New in Nashville.”

“New in Nashville” will highlight the growth of the company under Vasterling’s leadership. The program will feature Nashville premieres of ballets created by three of the world’s most sought-after choreographers.

Works will include Cathy Marston’s “Snowblind,” based on Edith Wharton’s classic novel “Ethan Frome,” and world premiere ballets by Matthew Neenan and Tony-nominated choreographer Donald Byrd.

In addition, the company will perform one of Vasterling’s most beloved ballets, “Appalachian Spring.”

All pieces in the “New in Nashville” program will be danced to live orchestration from Nashville Symphony at Tennessee Performing Arts Center, Apr. 21-23, 2023.
