Afro-Atlantic Histories

WASHINGTON, DC: “Afro-Atlantic Histories” is on view at the National Gallery of Art through Jul. 17, 2022.

The groundbreaking exhibition features more than 130 pieces – paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures, photographs, multimedia and ephemera – dating from the 17th and 21st centuries, by artists from twenty-four countries across Africa, Europe, the Americas and the Caribbean.

A series of talks, performances and walking tours accompany and augment the visual storytelling.

However, the museum closes at 5 p.m. What? No one attends museums at night? Please…

Perhaps you can make this National Gallery exhibit the start of your evening before heading up to The Park at 14th to properly get your DC nighttime experience underway.
