Esperanza Spalding

Newport Jazz Festival

NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND: The legendary Newport Jazz Festival returns to historic Fort Adams State Park, Jul. 29–31, 2022.

Several artists will be making their Newport Jazz Festival debut including Dan Wilson, Takuya Kuroda, Melissa Aldana, Jazz Is Dead Presents and Sullivan Fortner.

The “granddaddy of American music festivals” will also feature Norah Jones, The Fearless Flyers, Sons of Kemet, Esperanza Spalding, Angelique Kidjo, Terence Blanchard, PJ Morton, The Ron Carter Quartet, BADBADNOTGOOD, Cory Wong and many others.

We often look for the overlooked and took note of the festival’s statement of inclusivity. This could be a model for all music festivals … except for the ones that would rather perpetuate hate: “All are welcome at Newport Folk Festival and Newport Jazz Festival regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, gender identity, gender presentation, sexual orientation, age, body size, disability, appearance, religion, citizenship or pregnancy. We have a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination or harassment of any kind.”
