Rembrandt to Monet: 500 Years of European Painting from Joslyn Art Museum
For the first time, paintings by celebrated artists such as Rembrandt, Titian, El Greco, Bouguereau, Renoir, and Monet from the renowned collection of Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha, Nebraska will travel to Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Spanning nearly 500 years and with more than 50 works of art, the exhibition explores European painting expansively from the Italian Renaissance to French Impressionism.
“Rembrandt to Monet” also delves into European political, social, and cultural histories and brings the landscapes of Europe to Tulsa with powerful images and rich connections to the Philbrook Museum of Art’s permanent collection.
“Rembrandt to Monet: 500 Years of European Painting from Joslyn Art Museum,” is on view at Tulsa’s Philbrook Museum of Art, Feb. 22–May 28, 2023.
In addition to its daytime hours, the Philbrook is open until 9 p.m. on Fridays. This is ideal for those who are unable (or unwilling) to visit museums by day. #EveryMuseum in America could be open late at least once a month.
