International Wildlife Film Festival

International Wildlife Film Festival

The mission of the International Wildlife Film Festival is to promote awareness, knowledge, and understanding of wildlife, habitat, people, and nature through excellence in film. The long-standing festival champions wildlife filmmakers and challenges conventional expectations about how we conserve wildlife and habitat.

Now in its 46th year, the IWFF is a juried event that involves the world’s top wildlife filmmakers, producers, scientists and conservation leaders.

This year, the IWFF explores the theme of Fight or Flight.

The motif refers to the physiological reaction that occurs in response to a perceived harmful event, attack, or threat.

All 2023 film selections celebrate stories illustrative of all that it takes to survive. Fight or flight actions exist on a spectrum and can refer to the action of flying toward safety, freezing, fleeing, or perhaps a collective reaction to fight for the survival of an animal, on a more abstract level.

Held in Missoula, Montana, the International Wildlife Film Festival will be presented Apr 22-27, 2023.
