Rocky Mountain Folks Festival

Rocky Mountain Folks Festival

[Lyons, CO] The Rocky Mountain Folks Festival is a three-day musical event that has been running for more than 30 years. Performances run throughout the day from 10 a.m. until 11 p.m.

Remaining true to its vision of providing a fun summer event filled with music and stories, the festival is both family-friendly and ideal for anyone who loves live performances in a stunning setting.

The festival features two stages, a songwriter showcase and ample camping … for a fee, of course. Bring your bathing suit in case you want to go tubing or splash around in North Saint Vrain Creek.

This is what I had in mind when I was about 15 or 16 and I thought it would be really great to travel around and play festivals. This was the festival I was thinking of.

Jackson Browne

The Rocky Mountain Folks Festival is presented by Planet Bluegrass. They also produced the very popular Telluride Bluegrass Festival in Telluride, Colorado, in June.

You’ll find a different breed of concertgoers at the Folks Festival, though.

In Colorado, it’s amazing how someone can manage to look laid back and like they’ve just been backpacking in El Salvador for two weeks when, in reality, they’re wearing $300 Patagonia shorts.

This year’s Folks Festival takes place, rain or shine, Friday to Sunday, Aug. 11-13, 2023 at the Planet Bluegrass Ranch in Lyons, Colorado.
