The Moxy Downtown Los Angeles and AC Hotel Downtown Los Angeles will bring a 37-story addition to the Downtown Los Angeles skyline.
They will also provide twelve new dining and entertainment venues and 13,000 square feet of meeting and events space.
AC Hotel’s 347 guest rooms will cater to a design-conscious traveler who wants the essential elements of “an elevated hotel experience at an accessible rate.”
The first Moxy Hotel property to open in Los Angeles falls in line with what CNBC once reported as micro-sized rooms. “The average size of a hotel room in the U.S. is about 330 square feet, but these new modern-style digs being offered come much smaller. Rooms at Marriott’s Moxy Hotels begin at a ‘cozy’ 183 square feet.”
That’s about a dopp kit larger than ten feet by eighteen feet, in case you missed basic geometry.
Or, as the hotel press release presents it, “The 380 cozy bedrooms at Moxy Downtown LA are designed for flexibility and personalization, welcoming modern nomads with a thoughtful balance of utility and panache.”
Cozy panache. Hence, moxie.
The two hotels will share Level 8, a multi-dimensional dining, drinking, and entertainment concept opening later this spring.
The 727-bedroom Moxy Downtown Los Angeles and AC Hotel Downtown Los Angeles open Apr. 12, 2023. Both Marriott properties promote themselves as pet friendly.
