The St. Regis Chicago

The St. Regis Chicago

[Chicago, IL] The St. Regis Chicago, formerly Vista Tower, is a 101-story, 1,198 ft supertall skyscraper designed by architect Jeanne Gang.

Construction started in August 2016 and was completed in 2020. Upon completion it became the city’s third-tallest building at 1,198 ft, surpassing the Aon Center.

Overlooking the Chicago Riverwalk, The St. Regis Chicago hotel occupies the first eleven floors of the tower. In addition to sleek rooms and suites, the hotel property features a full-service spa, a 5,000-square-foot ballroom and 3,000 square feet of executive space.

In addition to 191 hotel rooms, the tower is built to house 393 condominiums. The building has three main segments that get narrower the further up they get.

“They were built with six different types of glass,” reports Homedit. “The building is made with columns that go inward and outward rather than directly up.

“Toward the top of the building, there are several uninhabited ‘blow-through floors’ to reduce the amount of swaying in the wind. St. Regis also uses six tanks with more than 400,000 gallons of water to counteract the wind.”

Oh, my…

The luxury St. Regis Chicago hotel opened in March, 2023.
