Andrea Bowers Hammer

Andrea Bowers

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Andrea Bowers works in a variety of mediums, from video to colored pencil to installation art, and explores pressing national and international issues.

Her work combines an artistic practice with activism and advocacy, speaking to deeply entrenched social and political inequities as well as the generations of activists working to create a fairer and more just world.

In the first museum retrospective surveying more than two decades of the artist’s production, “Andrea Bowers” traces the entire scope and evolution of her work.

The exhibition reflects Bowers’ embrace and experimentation with a wide range of mediums, including drawing, performance, installation, sculpture, video, and neon sculptures.

The exhibit will be on view Jun 19–Sep 4, 2022, at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles … which used to be open until 8 p.m. Now it closes at 6 p.m. Sigh.
