The Orange County Museum of Art debuted its new $94 million home at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa with a 24-hour party for the public on Oct. 8, 2022.

The 53,000-square-foot building has twice as much room for exhibitions as the museum’s previous location. The new space is just as notable for its outdoor spaces, including a grand staircase topped by a larger-than-life sculpture commissioned from Los Angeles-born and New York-based artist Sanford Biggers.

Pritzker Prize-winning architect Thom Mayne and his firm, Morphosis, designed the new museum.

Admission to OCMA will be free for at least the next 10 years. And the museum is open after 5 p.m. three times a week.
