Faith, Mythology, Mysteries and the Night

Faith, Mythology, Mysteries and the Night

24 Minutes Podcast
Season 2, Episode 3
Feb 2, 2023
Guest: Rev. Dr. Daniel C. Kanter, Senior Minister and CEO – First Unitarian Church of Dallas

Every now and then, 24HourNation likes to look at the night through a different lens. Certainly, one of the most enduring views of the night comes from our faith traditions.

That is why, for this edition of 24 Minutes, we’re going to set out into the wilderness of faith, mythology and mysteries of the night. We’ll also take a look at what all that means to those who thrive in the nighttime space.

After all—and we never thought of it in this way before—when it comes to theological and mythological traditions, the nighttime was here first.

The night has seniority.

So, in this episode, we will spend 24 minutes with Rev. Dr. Daniel C. Kanter of the First Unitarian Church of Dallas.

We’ll reflect on how:

  • there is no light without darkness,
  • the night needs not to be perceived as a time for fear, and
  • we can reclaim our spirit at night.

There will be no proselytizing but we will explore “the luminous darkness” during 24 Minutes with Rev. Dr. Daniel C. Kanter.
