Bellpine
[Portland, OR] “Things are looking up for the Portland food and drinks scene—literally,” writes Forbes.
“The Ritz-Carlton, which opens in the city this summer has announced the details on its flagship restaurant and bar, Bellpine. The elevated concept, focusing on the flavors of the Pacific Northwest, comes courtesy of Michelin Star executive chef Pedro Almeida. It will occupy the 20th floor of the 35-story, 251-room luxury hotel, affording access to prime panorama in the form of Oregon’s most famous peak: Mount Hood.
“Everything about the space is a celebration of the surroundings. The interior design is meant to evoke the craggy coastlines of the state. The name of the restaurant itself is a reference to Oregon’s fertile soil. And the wine menu will encompass a robust representation of Willamette Valley labels, including some of the country’s premiere Pinot Noirs, Pinot Blancs, and Chardonnays.”
“The Ritz-Carlton chefs and skilled mixologists masterfully take you on a sensory journey through rich landscapes and the legendary Oregon Coast,” adds The Ritz-Carlton website.
“Partnering with local foragers, fishermen, and artisanal purveyors, the restaurant celebrates the gastronomic legacy of Portland and the culture it embodies. The culinary journey is paired with a world-class wine selection featuring exceptional Oregon wineries.
“Unique spirits crafted by the region’s most skilled master distillers, are brought to life through immersive tableside experiences. Service is unpretentious and seamless providing the legendary knowledgeable, gracious, warm hospitality synonymous with The Ritz-Carlton Hotels.”
Okay, okay. We are sold. Except for that word “journey.” Boy, has that term died from overuse.
The Ritz-Carlton Portland and its signature restaurant Bellpine are due to open by Labor Day, 2023.
