Chesapeake Crab Shack & Bar started serving blue crabs and orange crushes in DC’s Shaw neighborhood on Aug. 19, 2022.

Plus, the bar will only serve beers brewed in D.C., Maryland and Virginia, alongside a wide selection of spirits and classic dockside drinks.

Speaking of dockside, Chesapeake Crab Shack & Bar is a permanent, all-outdoor crab house.

You read that correctly. The beach bar vibe will be there for you when you need a bucket of steamed and seasoned Maryland blue crabs dumped on the paper-topped table in front of you.

We’re liking the land-locked option in the heart of U Street. The kitchen is open Wednesday through Sunday, 4 p.m.-10 p.m.
