“Opening Spring 2022.”

“Opening Summer 2022.”

“Opening Fall 2022.”

Restaurant opening dates are notoriously hard to project. Just when you have everything lined up, some unforeseen speedbump kicks the can forward. (We see you code inspectors).

Still, some restaurants are worth the rolling wait.

MaMou is a modern French brasserie from Executive Chef Tom Branighan and Sommelier Molly Wismeier.

Set on the Upper French Quarter corner of Rampart Street and St. Philip Street, the European continental cuisine will draw on creole influences of Tom’s childhood in Southern Louisiana as well as show his appreciation for Nouvelle Cuisine.

Listed in several publications as a most-anticipated restaurant for 2022, MaMou has at least added a (not-yet-activated) reservation app to its website. We’re going with the last report we came across that says, “opening October 2022.”

Bon appetit, y’all.
