In the summer of 2022, Chef Elliott Moss announced his departure from two Asheville restaurants he helped create.

We’re not sure the story behind all that but we are encouraged by what’s next.

For weeks, Moss has been teasing locals with the idea of a retro diner Asheville’s west side.

Now, in setting up shop for Regina’s, he’s likely going through the travails experienced by restaurant entrepreneur: staffing, permitting, design, kitchen equipment…

Regardless, the motto for the new spot seems to be “Eat good, drink good, laugh loud, and dabble in excess.”

We’re good with that.

Chef Moss says his restaurant will pay homage to the legacy of the greasy spoon diner. It will serve mouth-watering cuisine he calls “comfort classics.”

The best we can say is that Regina’s is opening soon.
