For some time, 24HourNation has been predicting amalgams of the real and virtual nighttime worlds.
And here we are. Welcome to Sacramento’s restaurant, bar and esports lounge, Roc & Sol Virtual Diner.
“Part elevated diner and part esports battle arena,” writes The Sacramento Bee this new project from Matt and Fred Haines, longtime Sacramento restaurateurs.
“Neon lights now pour out of the 4,000-square-foot building freshly covered in psychedelic murals of growling tigers, tree-sized mushrooms and grinning, corpulent money men.”
“After an initial ramp-up period (opening hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week), Roc & Sol will become one of Sacramento few late-late night food spots,” The Sac Bee continues. “It’ll stay open until 2 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday and 4 a.m. Friday and Saturday, once fully staffed.”
The menu leans toward American diner fare, a nostalgic touch that should ground those wandering back in from the metaverse. Roc & Sol Virtual Diner opened Nov. 2, 2022.
