Sal’s Howdaj
“If shawarma, kabobs, tabouli and hummus make your mouth water, there’s a new Boise restaurant to try,” says the Idaho Statesman.
“Describing itself as an ‘authentic Middle Eastern restaurant,’ Sal’s is named after local owner Faisal Zaben and his father, Saleh, the chef. The menu includes traditional dishes such as baba ghanoush, chicken shawarma, falafel and lots of other olive-oil-drizzled options.
“Sal’s also offers sandwiches and salads. Beverages include dried lime tea, fresh lime juice, fresh orange juice and a yogurt drink.”
The locally owned restaurant opened mid-December, 2022, but decided it needed to close and make a few tweaks. “We saw some flaws in yesterday’s opening that we need to fix. We need to expand on our services and just make sure we are giving everyone that comes in the best Howdaj Experience.”
You have to admire that.
Sal’s Howdaj Middle Eastern Restaurant is now open in Boise, Idaho.
P.S. In case you’re curious, a howdaj is that seat that goes on the back of a camel.
