The Papas family, longtime Greektown restaurant owners and operators, has opened a new fine-dining concept Symposia.

The menu, created by executive chef Elliot Patti, features Mediterranean region inspired by Greece, Italy and Spain.

Offered are dishes like Spanish octopus, roasted beet with whipped feta, pickled strawberry and green harissa, Australian lamb chops and an olive oil cake with pistachio, orange, honey-whipped Greek yogurt. Yessir!

Located inside the Atheneum Suite Hotel and Conference Center, Olon Interior designed the 65-seat restaurant.

The restaurant is named after Plato’s “Symposium,” which is depicted in artwork on display in the nearby Atheneum lobby.

Symposia opened Oct. 4, 2022.
