Mother:Knife
Derick Edgren Otero’s drama, Mother:Knife, was first developed and presented as a reading during the Iowa Playwrights Workshop. Then it was accepted by the National New Play Network.
That’s a big deal for a emerging writer who refers to himself at “The Nancy Drew of playwriting.”
The plot goes something like this: After Beth loses her mother and sister in a mysterious accident, she becomes convinced that the key to finding them lies in the books she once read as a child.
Now, receiving its first staging , Mother:Knife will be presented in the University of Iowa’s Alan MacVey Theatre, Oct 28-30, 2022.
