LauderGO! Micro Mover
“Super excited about this new people-mover service in Fort Lauderdale,” posts Sarah Hannah-Spurlock, Nighttime Economy Manager for the City of Fort Lauderdale. “Especially because the service extends into the nighttime.”
And so it does.
Headed to Fort Lauderdale? Catch a free ride on the LauderGO! Micro Mover, a new transportation option that makes it easy for residents and visitors to get around downtown, Las Olas, and the beach.
This free and eco-friendly service is powered by an all-electric fleet of nimble vehicles that aim to provide innovative and sustainable solutions to ease traffic congestion in the City.
The vehicles connect to Brightline, Broward County Transit, and LauderGo! Community Shuttles.
The pilot program offers two different options for free rides around parts of Fort Lauderdale – the Downtown Service Area and the Beach Service Area.
Downtown Service Area
The Downtown Service Area is an on-demand system, where riders can use the app to request to be picked up and dropped off anywhere within the service area. There is no charge for riders. The app puts downtown, Las Olas Boulevard, and the beach at your fingertips. Tap a button, get in, and go!
Service Hours
Sunday through Thursday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Friday and Saturday: 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Beach Service Area
The Beach Service Area is a fixed-route system with stops stretching from the northern to the southern portions of the barrier island. Vehicles follow a designated route with five dedicated stops, where riders can hop on and off. Three of the stops are parking lots where passengers can park their own cars and then catch a free ride. The remaining stops are pick-up and drop-off locations. It’s the perfect way to cruise the beach in style!
Service Hours
Daily from 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Riders must be at least 18 years old to request a ride or be accompanied by an adult. Children must weigh at least sixty-five pounds or use a child seat provided by the adult passenger.
