The Atlantis
[Washington, DC] Salah Czapary is the Director of the Mayor’s Office of Nightlife and Culture for the District of Columbia.
Salah alerted us to the opening of The Atlantis, a $10 million, 450-capacity music venue situated next door to (and owned by) the legendary 9:30 Club in Washington, DC.
The Atlantis will be an homage to the original 9:30 Club venue that originally opened its doors in 1980. Grohl grew up in the D.C. area and attended shows at the original 9:30 Club. Later, he played on stage with his bands Scream and Nirvana.
“The Foo Fighters will take the stage in the evening,” Czapary tells us.
A press release goes a step further to reveal that a life-sized sculpture of Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl will be unveiled at the venue.
Through Sep. 29, The Atlantis will present forty-four concerts at a ticket price of $44. The Atlantis has its grand opening on Tue., May 30, 2023. Rock on with your bad selves.
