Chaparral, New Mexico is an unincorporated community that is only separated from El Paso, Texas by a state line on a map … and marijuana laws.

That Texas border is about to see a great deal more traffic than the one formed by the Rio Grande, thanks to the High Horse Cannabis Company.

“We offer a variety of products, from edibles to cartridges, concentrate pre-rolls and we have both medical and recreational,” a spokesperson told KDBC CBS 4 News in El Paso. “We plan on having two different windows and we’ll also have a lobby area. People have the option of driving through or coming in.”

“High Horse believes that medicine should be available to everyone no matter the time of day. Circumstances happen where you can’t get your medicine during your regular day, so our mission has been to help patients and have medicine available to everybody.”

Referring to a 24-hour cannabis location that High Horse operates in Las Cruces, New Mexico, the owner adds, “People work different schedules, emergencies come up, and we’ve seen in Las Cruces that being open 24 hours has led to less crime, happy neighbors, and grateful patients.”

Medicine. Less crime. Happy neighbors. Grateful patients. Twenty-four hours a day.

Sounds like it’s just what the doctor ordered.

The High Horse Cannabis Company has been open in Chaparral since May, 2022. On Feb. 4, 2023, the joint (if you will) begins 24-hour-a-day operations and opens two drive-through windows.
